Hybrid operating room partnerships

MAQUET/Getinge Group

We have collaborated closely with MAQUET since 2009 on numerous hybrid OR projects and integrated our interventional X-ray systems to work smoothly with the MAGNUS OR table system and enhance hybrid functionality. MAQUET, a product brand within Getinge Group, provides a broad range of products and innovative treatment and infrastructure solutions for extremely demanding hospital departments. These include operating rooms, hybrid operating rooms, catheter laboratories and intensive care units, as well as intra- and inter-hospital patient transportation.

Interventional oncology partnerships

BTG Interventional Medicine

BTG Interventional Medicine, a global specialist healthcare company, and Philips are collaborating to develop new tools for interventional radiologists and oncologists to help treat liver cancer and enhance patient care. This collaboration has resulted in the development of next generation embolic beads, called LC Bead LUMI™, which can be visualized during interventional procedures to support targeted delivery of the embolic material and control of the treatment endpoint. BTG Interventional Medicine is part of BTG plc. BTG’s growing portfolio of Interventional Medicine products is designed to advance the treatment of cancer tumors, advanced emphysema, severe blood clots, and varicose veins.

Electrophysiology procedures

Biosense Webster/Johnson & Johnson Medical

3D mapping systems are extensively used in EP ablation procedures for diagnosing, guiding and treating complex arrhythmias. Our partnership with Biosense Webster integrates our interventional X-ray images with Biosense Webster’s CARTO® 3 System and CARTOUNIVU™ Module. It provides enhanced anatomical detail and orientation for electrophysiologists and helps them manage X-ray dose and reduce mapping time. Biosense Webster, a division of Johnson & Johnson Medical NV/SA, is recognized worldwide as a leader in the science behind the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias. The company offers a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac catheters.

Boston Scientific

3D mapping systems are extensively used in EP ablation procedures for diagnosing, guiding and treating complex arrhythmias. We have aligned with Boston Scientific to ensure Boston Scientific’s Rhythmia™ Mapping System can work together with our interventional system without causing any artifacts in the imaging of the two systems. Boston Scientific’s products and technologies are used to diagnose or treat a wide range of medical conditions, including heart, digestive, pulmonary, vascular, urological, pelvic health, neurological and chronic pain conditions.

To enhance workflow for electrophysiology Philips has collaborated extensively with Abbott and images from our EP navigator can be transferred to the EnSite™ Velocity™ Cardiac Mapping System. Abbot is a leading global medical device manufacturer dedicated to transforming the treatment of some of the world’s most expensive epidemic diseases. Focal areas include heart failure, atrial fibrillation, neuromodulation, traditional cardiac rhythm management, and cardiovascular. EnSite™ Velocity™ are trademarks of Abbott.

For over a decade, we have teamed up with Stereotaxis to enable interoperability between Stereotaxis’ Niobe® ES remote magnetic navigation system with our cardiovascular X-ray systems. Our goal is to deliver cutting-edge solutions that ensure effective procedures while optimizing clinician comfort and efficiency in the cardiac cath lab. Stereotaxis is a healthcare technology and innovation leader in the development of robotic cardiology instrument navigation systems designed to enhance the treatment of arrhythmias, as well as information management solutions for the interventional lab.

Coronary artery procedures

We have partnered with Corindus Vascular Robotics to be the distributor for Corindus’ CorPath® System. It is the world’s first robotic-assisted system for the minimally invasive treatment of obstructed coronary arteries in patients with coronary artery disease. This system can be integrated with all major X-ray fluoroscopy systems, including Philips’ Allura X-ray systems. The CorPath System has been designed for the robotic-assisted placement of the coronary guidewires and stent/balloon catheters used in percutaneous coronary intervention procedures. It is operated by the interventional cardiologist from a radiation shielded, interventional cockpit. Additionally, the seated position in front of monitors may provide enhanced measurement and view of the angiography screen, while reducing fatigue and head, neck and back strain.

Structural heart procedures

Valve partners

Together with our partners Edwards, St. Jude Medical, Direct Flow Medical, Symetis and Boston Scientific, we provide an insightful planning and guidance solution for structural heart procedures called the HeartNavigator. With their cooperation, we offer 3D virtual device templates for all the devices produced by the respective partners in the HeartNavigator tool. This information can be visualized on the CT data to assess the appropriate device size and type for a TAVR/TAVI procedure.
